Hannah Montana The Movie (Opens April 10)
So ... let's start by saying this is NOT a Miley Cyrus bashing thread. I admit that I could care less about this movie, or Miley ... but you can bet there will be millions of 'tweens that will be lined up to see this movie over opening weekend.
I wonder how it will do ... I haven't heard much buzz about it until this past weekend.
Who is gonna see it? I know we have some younger INTERCOT members out there, and kids of the older ones that are excited for some Hanna Montana!

I'm sure DD12 will want to go see Hannah Montana. She loves the show. However, we'll wait a couple of weeks and go one day after school.

My DD is past the Hannah stage (she's almost 11), but she thinks that the movie looks interesting.
We'll be going, and taking a younger friend (6) with us...but we'll wait a couple of weeks, so we don't have to deal with any crowds.

Will be interesting to see how this movie does in the theaters since Jonas Brothers concert movie was anything but a success... However, I still don't see this franchise, nor the Jonas Brothers franchise, fading out any time soon....

I am 17 and saw the movie this past weekend and I thought it was really good. It did pretty good in the box office to, i think somewhere around 34 million for opening weekend, but im not entirely sure. The movie was funny and sweet but nothing more than that. I enjoyed the new music too!

I took my DD and neice to see it yesterday and I think that it was a really good movie...There are not a lot of family movies out there anymore and this was as good as you can get...Its worth the time and money IMO...It kind of reminds me of the older Disney movies from when we were younger, minus Kurt Russell...

I took DD12 to see Hannah Montana last Friday. I thought it was a good movie. Kourtney enjoyed and wants to go see it again. I know a lot of 17 year girls who were/are planning to see the movie too. My 20 yr old niece and her friends saw it and enjoyed it.

My bride saw this last night with a friend of ours and her two daughters. They all liked it, but couldn't decide if the "older" girls or "younger" girls liked it more.

Well the movie made over 32 million on Easter weekend making it the second highest grossing film ever for that weekend. I haven't seen the film, but from what I've heard it supposed to be good.
According to Walt Disney Pictures' exit polling, 79 percent of the audience was female, and 60 percent was under 18 years old, skewing younger and more female than the last Disney Channel success High School Musical 3: Senior Year. The studio also noted that parents and their children comprised 66 percent of the audience, and teenagers made up 28 percent.
I'm guessing we haven't seen the last of Miley/Hannah movies.

I must say I am impressed by the first week numbers. And as predicted, Hannah tumbled the second week. Still, impressive though. I can see this movie ranking in about 80-90 million before the theater run ends. Of course, Disney will make a killing in DVD sales. Biggest question in my mind though: IS Hannah popular cause of Miley or is Miley popular cause of Hannah? And, can Miley sustain a fan base once she loses the blonde hair wig?

Took my 9-year-old daughter to see this and I think I raved about it more than she did! This is probably because I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did. But it was cute and entertaining.
