Preferred parking for AAA members?
Just switched all our insurance to AAA (saved a bunch of money - wish we would have done this years before) and was told by agent that AAA members enjoyed preferred parking privilges at WDW. Is this true?

Yup
Like a CHARM
in the big folder they will send to you, theres coupns for a bunch of free stuff and discinuted merchandise.
somewhere in there, you will find a coupon for free preferred parking. you just show it to the parking attendant and they will tell you to follow the blue stripe to preferred parking.
Very nice perk. We parked approx 90 seconds by foot from TTC monorail. Of course that was off peak

I believe what he meant is, if you buy tickets or a package for WDW through AAA that you get a preferred parking pass. It is not for free parking, it is a pass that allows you to park in one of a number of marked spots nearer to the front of the lot (if available). They used to be marked with a diamond shape.

As of January this year they still were diamond shaped.

Yes as long as you book thru AAA you get this. if the AAA lots are full they usually will give you someplace else to park. We found in the Magic Kingdom Parking lot. The lot was full & they let us park right on the end. We were steps away from the tram which was nicer then AAA parking because when we came out that night we didn't have to walk thru the tunnel to get to our car.

We've always found AAA parking to be terrific. We usually arrive before opening so we've never seen the AAA parking even close to full. For our last few visits, we've booked through a bounceback while still at the resort. Then, we switch the reservation over to AAA just for the parking pass.

We purchased our park tickets through AAA last year and received the preferred parking. This was so worth it in my opinion that I will always purchase at least one ticket through AAA to get this. You don't have to worry about squishing on to the tram with the stroller and kids. The spots are up front near the handicapped parking. After we left the parks we just walked back to the car, leaving the sleeping baby in the stroller, until we got to the car and had a seemless tranfer to the car seat. The pass is also for a year so you can use the pass again if you go back during the year.
