question about Rose and Crown
My husband wants the Fish and Chips. I do not like any kind of fish. Does anyone know if the counter service outside serves only fish and chips or do they have anything else?? I am trying to decide if I should book ressies inside (where I have other choices and he can get his fish) or just grab cs outside??

The counter service you're referring to (the Yorkshire County Fish Shop) only serves fish and chips (and chips alone, and shortbread for dessert). Your best bet may be to book an ADR at Rose & Crown. We've always enjoyed our meals there (satisfied customers since 2000). You can get an idea of what they serve here (their menu has changed a bit recently and the quality of their food prep has very much improved).
If you don't want a full meal, you can also eat in the pub. Your DH can get his fish & chips, you can get a sandwich or a cheese platter. And of course a

They only serve fish and chips, just chips, or a child's hot dog, I believe. But it's easy enough for him to get fish and for you to head to France to get something at Boulangerie Patisserie or Morocco for something at Tangierine Cafe and to meet back at one or the other. Otherwise, yes, I would plan for an ADR at Rose and Crown, or Ellen's idea to eat in the pub is a good one, too.

Thank you, do you need reservations to eat at the pub?? I have never been to the Rose and Crown is the pub attached to the restaurant?

The pub is attached. It's the front part of the restaurant. You don't need reservations for the pub but sometimes it's hard to find seating or you just have to wait a bit. There's occasional entertainment, though, and it's a fun place to rest and have a drink or snack.

I second (or third) trying the pub. It's a great place to meet people, too. We spent an afternoon once talking with a family from England over a pint of Guiness.
But, you can't go wrong with a meal there especially if Illuminations is going on around your ADR time. Get a cup of nice hot tea after dinner and a dessert to share and it's really romantic and fun! The last time we went I had the lamb and DH had the bangers and mash. Both were really excellent. The servers are friendly and love talking about their home country.

definitely as must. i would recommend an ADR for the R&C and sit down for the experience. if you like beer then i would suggest tennant's ale. it has a great flavor and i cannot find it anywhere else in the states.
