Pipa
Sadly, PIPA will no longer be appearing at DAK after next week. He's off to be recycled.

PIPA is PUSH's cousin. He is a recycling can at RPW.

That's Pipa.
I think he's more interesting than Push. I dunno why, Push is kinda overrated. Pipa is cuter, IMO.

Great another cutback I'm sure Pipa won't be replaced by new entertainment. I loved seeing Pipa it was great watching people's reactions.
Let's say goodbye to some more Magic

I imagine the same guy that ran the Palm Tree ran PIPA. The voice is pretty close, although it's so modulated, etc it could be anyone.
I was going to head up to Conservation Station this year too, guess I won't see this!

The voice stays the same for Pipa, regardless of who the performer is. Trust me, because I've seen a few different ones. I'm sad he's leaving. I loved him, he made RPW fun.

A few years ago when we went to the AK my daughter was followed around by PIPA. It was hilarious just watching her try to get away from him/her. I have the whole thing on video. To bad it is being cut.

Pretty much. It is sad because Pipa and Push are much better than the new interactive characters. Things like Wall-E and Muppet Mobile Labs have limitations, despite their being highly interactive. Guests can't get that close to them and touch them, hug them, or anything like that. But Push and Pipa have the ability to say "Hey, give me a hug cause I'm lonely!" and Guests can do it.

So, is the performer leaving, or just the trash can?
That technology really is a lot of fun. I remember over in Epcot (probably 98 or 99) there used to be a robotic chick. She was maybe like 5 foot or something and did a really fun interactive show. I married her once! Not sure if I have a picture or not.

And of course we know that Disney never adds anything new, they only take away. Why does everyone forget that Disney also adds attractions. EE, American Idol, Toy Story Mania are recent additions. Toy Story greeting area comes to mind as well. Yak and Yeti, redesigned Tusker House, Tutta Italia, also come to mind.
Remember also that when WDW opened it was only MK, River Country, a couple of hotels in the MK area and a small Disney MarketPlace. Yep, and 38 years later its still true that Disney never adds anything.
Yes it hurts to see things we like go but for someone who has been going to Disney parks since 1958 I have seen more attractions, street performers etc. leave than I can count. And yet, there always seems to be something new being added and there have been more new things than I can count. Walt himself started changing Disneyland the day after it opened and always thought there should be change. The amount of change I have seen over 50 years without Disney losing the Disney touch gives me a perspective that Disney always is Disney and change is good.
For all those 50 years these same thoughts about Disney "cutbacks" will hurt and the quality will be gone could have been written in any given year and yet.... Disney is still Disney.

I think you misunderstood my point I know Disney is adding new attractions and restaurants but they are taking away the little things that are unique to WDW. Those little extra Magical touches that people remember. An experience that you can only get at Disney. These are the stories families tell for years to come about their encounters with these little unexpected hidden treasues. I talked to a friend recently who took his kids to WDW and I asked them what they liked best and they said the plant lady was really cool. They were talking about Da Vine not EE or TSM. These are the things that keep people coming back.

I hate that she is gone now. She sang lullibies to Hayden twice. We always enjoyed meeting her. She will be missed.

I think you are misunderstanding the point these posters are trying to make - the 'plusses' are becoming fewer and farther between. Certainly, they are adding full blown attractions, but at the same time taking away some of the little things that keep people occupied while they are making their way between these attractions. Streetmosphere; Mulch, Sweat & Shears; World Showcase Players; PUSH; PIPA; Wes Palm; Kristos; DiVine; Imaginum; 4 For A Dollar; Off Kilter; British Invasion; etc. These are (were) little "plusses" that broke up the crowds and kept you entertained. As these are removed, you lose some of the magic throughout the parks.

We were there in December and my DS#1 actually LOOKED for Pipa.....he enjoys interacting with that recycling can!! He always gets his picture taken with it too!! And, then the can says something about how every vacation needs a picture in the scrapbook with a trash can!!
I remember also last year holding the door open at Conservation Station for PIpa when it came out the door by the petting zoo.....it thanked me for being so kind and not slamming the door on it!
Yes, the little things are what the kids (and adults) remember and they are diminishing before our very eyes......

Just thought I'd let everyone know, today was the last day for Pipa. It was cute, he said goodbye to everything and everyone. I gave him a hug (the recycling can) and got a little stuffed up. He'll be missed. RPW will be so boring without him.
