Default Anyone ever use Thrifty Car Rental

I reserved a car with Thrifty, then I read a bunch of bad reviews. Does anyone have any experience using Thrifty?

I usually use Thrifty because they are usually the cheapest. Customer service isn't great, but I've never had a bad experience. You definitely get what you pay for. It's simple and cheap and fits me pretty well. You just have to make sure you read your contract no matter what company you use. I will personally never use Dollar because of a horrible experience I had that left me stranded without a car in Salt Lake. Dollar hasn't let me down yet and I've used them about 8 times in the past 6 months.

I used Thrifty once a few years back without a problem. My personal favorite is Alamo. Alamo usually has some great coupon offers that can be combined with other offers.

When someone else paid for it, I usually used Hertz or Avis....When I pay for it, I use Alamo or Thrifty....both usually have good deals, and offer coupons....

They're all the pretty much the same. I've rented from Thrifty and they weren't really much different from anybody else.

Stick with a well known company and stay away from names you've never heard of because they're cheaper. Check over your car well before renting. If you're not getting insurnace check with the credit card you're using to be sure they cover everything and they're not just "secondary" to your own insurance (a lot of them don't cover admin fees, loss of use etc. A whole lot of paperwork fees set up to coherce you into to buying their waaaayyyyy over priced insurance).

My preference when renting a car is to pay a little more and get one in the Terminal because it's less stressful to turn it in when you return. (I hate wating on shuttles to take me back to the airport).
