Pogo and Patti's Merry Christmas Trip Day Seven

Cast: Pogo & Patti, Experienced WDW Travelers.

Day Seven, December 17th., Magic Kingdom and return flight to reality.

This morning started like the rest, coffee and weather reports, but we were checking the weather forecast for traveling to home as well.

We checked in for our return flight at the resort and then made it a point to speak with the head of housekeeping as well as the manager for POFQ as well. We explained the whole story to them and told then we were very disappointed and they said they were sorry and gave us a credit for half the room charge for the night and assured us that we would have the VIP treatment at POFQ for our next trip if we returned. That was good enough to make us happy and we checked our carryon bags with Bell Services and left for the Magic Kingdom.

The walk down Main Street is one of our favorite times of our lives, but today’s was bittersweet because it was our last day at WDW.

We had our picture taken for our photo pass in front of the Castle and then we stopped by the Christmas Shop for you guessed it, more shopping. We rode Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Carousel of Progress, and Tomorrowland Transit Authority before heading back to POFQ for a late lunch and our ME pickup.

ME was on time and we were at the airport, through the security checkpoint and had time to stop for a cold beer before boarding our aircraft for the cold and snowy North Coast.

The flight was uneventful and we returned the harsh reality of living here as we made the drive home from the airport exhausted from our trip. We’ve recouped very well and now we ready to return to life as we know it.

A bittersweet end to a sweet stay! That last day is always hard! Glad you made it home safe and sound though!

I too love the walk down Main Street USA. It just gets me teary everytime. When we are making that last trip back up MS toward the exit, I wave goodbye to Walt's window and thank him, and I tell him we will be back again soon!!

Sounds like you guys had a nice last day, glad to know your Mousekeeping issues got resolved. And it sounds like Patti sure had fun shopping -- now I don't feel so bad about re-routing us through Island Mercantile earlier in the week!!

Glad you're home safe & sound, and even more glad you guys are so close so that we can see you again after the holidays go by... I'm so glad you guys had a fun trip!! Thanks for sharing all your memories w/ us, and BIG thanks and hugs for wanting to share part of your trip with us in person -- that was awesome!!
