Stroller help, please!
I need a good lightweight stroller for my 20 month old to use in WDW in January--something more substantial than a plain $10 umbrella stroller. But, I don't want to spend a small fortune. Any advice on a brand or style that has worked for you??

Personally, I would look at the McLarren strollers. A good, lightweight stroller is not too cheap. We made the mistake of dropping a fortune on a stupid travel system. Only to find out that we could have been far better off spending $50 more for quality and much longer life. With a little searching, you may be able to find closeouts or sales.

I agree go with a Maclaren!!! We love ours so much that we now have 2! We have an orange one and a pink one. Our 8 year old uses it still sometimes! They're mainly for our 5 year old and our almost 3 year old. We actually bought the pink one for our upcoming trip in January also! You'll love it! It's super light, easy and quick to fold, fairly cheap, extremely durable, and really easy on the buses if you take them. If you have any more questions you can PM me.

I was in the same boat....I have an infant and I needed something I could handle on my own and absolutely CAN NOT take my travel system with me -- it's too heavy and bulky!(I'll be by myself with two kids (6 and 6 months), so I started to look on ebay.....and didn't have any luck, so then I turned to craigslist (If the site gets deleted off here, just pm me and I'll send it to you--not sure I can list that).
Anyway, I did a TON of research on strollers that were umbrella fold, yet fullsize function and I'm happy to report that I had honed in on two models: Peg Perego Pliko P3 and Inglesina Zippy. Now if you went to the store to buy these they are WELL over $300, but if you can find one either on ebay or CL you CAN get a heckuva deal!! In the last week I found both a Pliko P3 AND a Zippy! The catch for me was that one was in Philly (over 4 hours away), so I got my cousin to pick it up for me -- she says it looks brand new!! The guy said they used it like four times! New: $339, I got it for $100. Then I found a Zippy here in Pittsburgh for $75 but when I met the guy it was a little glitchy, so he said $65 (new price was $349). I got it home and cleaned it all up and it has started to no be so glitchy, so I think it had just sat in his car for too long unused (he said he took it around the block one day and to the zoo ONCE! He didn't know much about its functions but I showed him some things on it and now it works!!).
So my advice is to do some reseach and see what you want it to do first, then look around. I too was looking at MacLarens but my little guy is too small for an actual umbrella stroller! This Zippy opens and closes with ONE hand and it is really not that much bigger than an umbrella stroller when folded, yet pretty close to full size when opened!

We bought a Chicco Capri for DD's first trip at 2 1/2 and have used it for 2 more trips plus regular around town use. It is lightweight, not bulky, has a recline and a canopy, a basket underneath (plus we added a net bag to the handles), and a shoulder carrying strap. Love it! We'll probably get a second for the next trip as DS will be big enough to nap without a full recline.

I have the Chicco C5. I just used it with my 12 month old last month in WDW at it was great- easy to fold, easy to get on and off the buses, comfortable for baby, etc. It's not as expensive as some of the other suggestions. I found it on Amazon just now for $89.00. It has a few extra features that the cheapo umbrellas don't have like recline, cup holder, storage bag, and rain guard. We used the rain guard for the 1st time at WDW and it was so nice to have something that fit the stroller instead of trying to rig a poncho to keep baby dry like I saw other families doing. I really like it a lot and it is the perfect stroller for us.

We are getting a McClaren also! Our DS#2 will be 19mo when we go in Jan and already 30lbs. DS#1 is 3 and very tall for his age. If #1 wants to ride in the stroller at any point (he never does, but you never know!) he doesn't really fit in anything else. PLUS, in my research, the McClaren is one of the lighter strollers to carry.

I LOVE my Combi strollers!! We have 2 singles and a double and they fold up nice and small but have the features of a larger stroller (and have all been to Disney!)
