Halloweenies part II
After quite a night of battling the BEEP of my cell phone NOT the accused fire alarm…I was more than ready to escape out of the room. Today was the Halloween Party…SPACE MOUNTAIN go go go!!!
When we got to Magic Kingdom people, people, PEOPLE everywhere. I could have sworn we were in the middle of summer time. It was TERRIBLY disappointing. Recession, No Gas???? No stopping people from going to Disney. I was really hoping taking my son out of school and going in October that it would be a little gentler on the crowds. NOPE. GROUPS of people were there
Red Shirts,
Blue Shirts,
Yellow Shirts sporting Destination Florida. I later heard there was a large convention there and an even larger one coming…SIGH.
On the more fortunate side I did NOT see a whole lot of kids that I felt needed to be taken to the” child swap” and traded for a better model. In fact the only troublesome child had to be on the plane ride down there. This child was somewhere between 18 and 24 months and really she was VERY VERY cute
BUT…She wasn’t crying or laughing she sort of just made this “squawking” noise. Unfortunately it was at a “pitch” that could make “
fingernails on a chalkboard” sound relaxing. As long as she was allowed to play and run around she was relatively quiet but once she was held she “squawked”. The “squawking” was normal for her age (they all do somewhat) BUT the “pitch” and “level” that she did it was well…several of us in line knew what the “child swap” was for. But other than that one and a couple of sisters slapping one another for the most part kids were amazingly behaved and parents seemed to be quite on top of them (except for squawkie’s…they seemed immune). Fortunately earphone muffled the pitch a little bit (remember…I’m hard of hearing and I could hear the squawk through the headphones, down my spinal column all the way from the back of the plane)
Back to the magic…COP broke down…so we walked to the next two scenes and peeked in…Space Mtn seemed a little slow (I’ll be glad when they upgrade it to Disneyland’s but I was glad it was there for my DH’s first visit). I still love the blast off effect. I REALLY miss Alien Invasion. While not great, it was MUCH better than Stitch. It was fun watching some of those people (adults) actually react as if the aliens REALLY landed in Disneyworld. I really enjoyed Monsters Laugh floor. That was really cute…and I was excited to find a “MIKE” shirt. I wish I bought two but…I have a friend going next month so I can probably talk her into getting me one.
We fastpassed everything we could…AND we needed it. We ate at CP (thank goodness we had Reservations). I liked it better than Bomas. We got there right at the cross between Lunch and Dinner so we got both. Our waiter was great. I NEVER had an empty glass and he was very quick to clear everything. Full 20% plus one.
After that we went back to the hotel to change and have a nap. No one could sleep so we went back…my son had a cool black and white Halloween shirt that grandma made and my hubby had a Doctors’ T-shirt. We loved the ghoulish lady at the Haunted Mansion. She stopped and chatted with us twice. We got a Halloween Photopass card which I lost by the time we got to the hotel. I’ve sent in a request to look for the photos…I really had the times nailed almost to the minute so I think we’ll have a good chance. Right before our picture we saw a family of period ghosts. They were the COOLEST

. Saw the Headless Horseman (boy did he go by fast)…the parade and Hallowishes. Got TONS of candy. My DH was like a kid again when I told him HE could trick or treat too.
Back to the hotel. The walk from the bus stop wasn’t bad but there was no way I wanted anything to do with the lobby. CSR is lovely, but just too big.
The fire alarm and my phone were both on good behavior that night.
