Default Booking online

This will be my first trip booking without using a travel agent. My question is about booking through the Disney website. Most vacation packages only require $200 down payment. Can you make installments, i.e. such and such dollar payment per month, or pay one lump sum? If so, when is the lump sum usually due? I would like to put down more than the $200 initially, but wonder when the rest will be due and how I will pay it. Thanks!

For travel packages at the Disney site online: You actually do put $200 down as a deposit, or more than that if you choose. Then, you can pay it off in installments and your payments will show up online. They don't really mind how you choose to pay it off, little by little or all at once, as long as you pay it off by the date they assign, I believe it's 21 days before travel or something like that.

For room only, I don't think you can pay it until arrival.

I am actually in the process of doing this. I put down the $200 deposit in Sept2007 when I booked and have been paying it of monthly since. I must pay any remaining balance by Sept 24 2008 for our Nov 8 arrival (I believe it's 45 days before) according to the statement I just got. I also paid this way for our 2006 trip. Good luck with your planning!

For a package, final payment is due 45 days prior to your arrival.

I'm not sure why you've opted not to use a travel agency this time, but I would recommend booking through our sponsor, Magical Journeys. It doesn't cost anything extra to use them, they'll keep an eye out for discounts that might apply to your stay, you'll have the same terms as you would booking through Disney directly. I've used them several times now, and they are fantastic!
