Disney Dream Jobs- Chief Magic Official (CMO) - (merged)
With the Year of a Million Dreams continuing into 2008 (and being an election year), the next Disney Dream Job sponsored by Careerbuilder.com is here- this time the opportunity to serve as the CMO (Chief Magic Official) at the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts.
Find more at http://dreamcmo.com but hurry- applications due by January 27th.
Job Description
A simple dreamer won’t do. If you’re elected, we’ll give you a costume and you’ll get some interesting coaching from a great bunch of characters. But you’ll have to play the part for 12 months during The Year of a Million Dreams 2008 celebration.
On select weekends throughout the year, the Chief Magic Official will be tasked with dream-making ambassador duties, including appearances at Walt Disney World® Resort in Florida and Disneyland® Resort in California.
As part of the selection process, ten semi-finalists will be provided the creative tools to conduct a full-blown viral campaign during this very important election. As any good candidate knows this time of year, you’ve got to get those votes! The top three finalists will be invited along with their party of three guests to Walt Disney World Resort to compete in a variety of dreamy activities. Talk about my dream job! Making decisions, granting wishes... WOW!
I suppose they'll also need someone to fill in as Belle once in a while, huh? Wishful thinking. Just trying to think of ways to make this dream job even better! haha.

Just FYI, in keeping with the quality of the majority of Disney web efforts, that site is jacked up. None of the links work.

Sounds neat, except for the making appearances part. I don't do so well in front of crowds, but my DW does. Trying to convince her to go for it.
On a side-note, and maybe more practical (and boring), it sounds like this would be an actual temporary job position, since an unspecified salary is included. So, the travel and stay would all be part of the employment package, as such taxes would be levied based on the salary, not as they would be if it were a gift or prize, which could be hefty. Although, it does say that airport and government issued taxes as well as food would be the responsibility of the winner. Sorry, I just couldn't help but wonder this.
[edit]
Just found the following in the fine print.
Finalist Prize Winners are solely responsible for all federal, state and local taxes on Finalist Prize.
I wonder what taxes would be on a prize with an approximate value of $11,610?

Where to apply?, Since the Intercot terms of service do not allow posting of URL's, just put "Chief Magical Officer" into any search engine and you will find it, but hurry, their are only two weeks left to apply!
