How are the crowds after Jan 1st?

Our trip this year is Dec 28 through Jan 6.

We were told by a friend that the parks are less crowded after Jan 1. Anyone vouch for this?

That won't be a given this year like it usually is. Many schools don't start back until January 7 this year, so there will be more families with school age children in the parks the first week of January.

If it is any consolation to you, our schools here start back on 1/3/08. Maybe that will lighten the crowds a little that week.
