Need opinions
My children have given up their b-day parties for the past two years in order to save money for our trip in December. Would it be wrong to celebrate their b-days while we are there? I know they probably don't ask for proof, but I just don't know. What do you think?
Thanks for your opinions!

If it were me and I wanted to celebrate anything after the fact I would be honest and till the CM about your kids defering the B-Days till the got to WDW ao they could really celebrate
Why shouldn't you be able to be happy at the happiest place on earth.
You never know

Wow - a fellow Grobanite! How cool!
I can't believe that if you explained to the CM, that they would do anything less for your children than anyone else on the "real" birthday!
Wow, impressive kids, huge sacrifice for them. My DS's are 10 & 11 & Bdays are still a really big deal to them. Obviously yours really understood the importance of the family trip, and took it to heart.
I hope you have a purely magical trip!

Given their sacrifice, I would definitely celebrate their birthdays while there.
I think that in your situation, I would let each child pick one day out of the trip to be their "birthday" celebration day. Maybe you could go an extra step and also let them have the opportunity to loosely plan the day and perhaps pick out where to eat lunch or something like that.
I would definitely be honest with the CMs if asked, but can't imagine that it would EVER be an issue.

Celebrate! You don't say how old your kids are but they must be really wonderful to have made such a sacrifice. You should be proud! Many people go to celebrate belated or early birthdays. I would get birthday buttons, have fun and not think twice about it. If anyone asks tell them and celebrate the fact that you have such great kids.

I would definitely go for it!
We were celebrating DDs birthday on our last trip and they gave us a button when we checked into Pop Century. I said something to DD like "You can wear this on your birthday" and the CM helping us said "Wear it all week, what better place to celebrate than Disney World!"
If you feel like you need to be honest, tell them that you are belatedly celebrating both kiddos birthdays, I am sure they will be 100% okay with it

CELEBRATE! You are not saying "today is their birthday," but you are there celebrating their birthdays, and I agree that after such sacrifices they deserve it! We just got back from AKL and when I told the CM the room was a birthday treat for my DD (whose birthday had been a couple of weeks prior) she handed me the button--I didn't even ask for it.

I know that people have alot of different views on this, but I think it's ok - if you are like us every penny counts and when your children are giving up birthdays to go to WDW then I think you should celebrate!!! When we went in Aug. I celebrated both my children's birthdays. My daughters birthday had just passed and my sons was coming up the next month. So we didn't do birthdays that year to go to WDW. I figure that I paid enough for the trip and it was for their birthdays so we were celebrating. We got buttons from each park and then celebrated at 2 different restaurants. They had the best time that trip and they will have those memories. My daughter still talks about the phone call she received from Goofy.

Thanks everyone!
I appreciate your opinions and comments. I wasn't sure what to expect. I DO have wonderful children. My DS is 10 and DD is 7. They weren't sure they wanted to give up their parties, but they did. I'm a very proud mom! We will celebrate their b-days and I will do my best not to worry about what someone else will think! LOL
Three weeks and counting!
You guys are awesome!
