Best upgrade EVER!!!!
We arrived last Sunday morning at the Boardwalk. We had booked a Garden Suite to share with my cousin which has upstairs and downstairs beds. Some come with a loft overlooking the lower level, some completely seperate. we had requested the seperate for more privacy. When we checked in, my wife asked if we had received our request. With just a hint of a smile, the consiger host checking us in said that wasn't going to be a problem. "You've been upgraded. You're in the the Presidential Suite!!!!"
I felt like I just won the lottery. It had a master bedroom to the left and a seperate bedroom with two queens to the right and a balcony 80 feet long. In between was a dining room with an antique table and seating for eight. a seating area with three couches in the center, another area with a TV armoir and library along with a small kitchen/serving area opening to a wet bar by the dining area. Folks, I didn't want to leave the room. Talk about a Year of a Million Dreams! I got mine!

That's a great upgrade... I believe you beat the one I had many years ago at the Disney Institute. Had originaly booked just a regular one bedroom bungalow, or whatever they called them back then, and ended up with a 3 bedroom townhouse on the water looking at Downtown Disney. I was also amazed. I've never ended up with a Presidential suite though ... that's a mega upgrade! Congratulations.

Oh my that is special! Congrats! I agree it would have been hard to leave the room! I cannot even get a request let alone an upgrade, lol.

That is awesome! How wonderful for you.
We had a similar experience during our Nov. 2001 trip to WDW. We had booked a garden view room at the Poly and when we checked in, I asked if it would be possible to get a room with a view of MK. The CM fiddled around a bit, then said he had a great room for us on the ground floor of the Tahiti building (room 1015).
We couldn't believe it when we opened the curtains of our room and saw the most breathtaking view of Cinderella's Castle right across the lagoon!
It was truly a magical experience! Our two DDs and my mother-in-law were thrilled.

We had a great upgrade as well, though not as nice as the Presidential Suite!
We booked a standard view room at the BC for the week of 8/26. When we arrived we were checked in by this wonderful young woman from Columbia. She was very sweet and attentive to the kids and us. She apologized about our room not being ready but said that it would be worth the wait.
An hour later I went to the Guest Services Desk to see the room was ready and the woman behind the desk asked if i had my room key because I would need it to get to the 5th floor where our room was located. I looked at my wife with a sly smile and told her that we were in concierge. She didn't know what that meant but once we got there she got it right away!!
So great how they can make your vacation that much more special just by doing one simple thing. I made sure I found the young woman who checked us in the next day and thanked her so much for the upgrade.
