Sept. 4, 2001 – The “Caravan Carousel” attraction opened in Arabian Coast at Tokyo Disneyland.
Sept. 4, 2001 – The Tokyo DisneySea, and Hotel “MiraCosta,” the first hotel built inside a Disney park in Japan opened to guests.
Sept. 4, 2001 – Disney’s touring production of “Aida” opened at the Arizona State University’s Gammage Auditorium in Tempe, Az. (The show would run through Sept. 15.)
Sept. 4, 2001 – “The Magic Lamp Theater” attraction opened at Tokyo DisneySea.
Sept. 4, 2001 – The “Mermaid Lagoon Theater” attraction opened at Tokyo Disneyland.
Sept. 4, 2001 – The “Restaurant Sakura” opened in the American Waterfront area at Tokyo DisneySea.
Sept. 4, 2003 – The new show “Disney On Ice Presents Disney/Pixar’s Monsters, Inc.” opened at Orlando’s TD Waterhouse Centre. (The show would run through Set. 7, 2003.)
Sept. 4, 2004 – Disney’s “Goofy Country Dancin’ Jamboree” attraction in Frontierland at in Magic Kingdom in WDW closed (when it reopens it will feature Jessie, Woody, and Bullseye from Toy Story 2.)
Sept. 4, 2004 – Florid’a major Central Florida resorts and the theme parks, including WDW, closed due to Hurricane Frances.
Sept. 4, 2004 – The Disney Magic pulled into Galveston’s Harbor (in Texas) as Hurricane Frances forced the liner from its course home to Port Canaveral, Fl. Because of Frances, the cruise line is allowing passengers to leave and search for a alternative means of getting to their homes.
