SW question
I've booked my trip. Now, I've been looking up the flights for my trip with SW. But, for the date I want --- it says UNAVAILABLE under the lowest airefare. I don't want to pay the amount for the other price sets (refundable, etc....). They are WAY too expensive.
What, if any, are the chances they will add on flights for this particular day to where I can get a cheap fare.
The flight is in January.
(Does this make sense?)

I don't recall ever seeing them add flights. They have a very set schedule and only limited fares at each bracket. That's the reason they're profitable when everyone else isn't. If it makes a huge difference in fare you might check the day before your WDW trip and spend the night in a regular hotel.

They will probably not add flights, but "unavailable" fares might suddenly become available again. Like any airline, they balance seats and fares, and sometimes they make adjustments. The flight I'm taking home this December, for example, is now showing "available" again at the lowest fare level after being "unavailable" for a month now (I keep checking because sometimes they actually lower the prices). So don't give up - it may happen!

The unavailable is just for the lower prices. Right now Southwest has specials thru October 31st...... so I would definitely wait for a Jan flight. I just booked one way of our November flight yesterday...... yesterday I got 79$... and today that flight has nonavailable for that pricerange... you just have to keep checking, they change prices alot, sometimes in the same day.
but mainly... for Jan.. with Southwest... discounts will probably appear LATE november.

I recommend checking a different airline. You may get a better deal.

One thing to remember is that there are 137 seats on a Boeing 737 that SWA flies. They have a number of seats at one price, a number of seats at another price. With January being a popular time to fly to Florida, it is entirely possible that the seats at the lowest fare have already been sold.
It is possible that there will be "specials" between now so continue to check. Also, download "DING!" to see if they have any good rates for you during the time you want to fly.
SWA never adds flights once they have released their schedule.

Yes, I have DING....and I check it all the time. But, I'm assuming that the January deals won't be out for a while.
What do you think?
And, I meant to add...that the $168.00 was ONE WAY. It would have been $1008.00 for 3 people. NO WAY. I've tried to 'change the dates' on SW's service (I was up to adding or subtracting a day)...., all the days around my original departing day are all sold out of the cheap flights also.
I'm praying that something will come up.

I think you will be all set for January. I'm in the same boat, wait for Nov. flights to open up. At least Disney doesn't plan that game .
Good Luck!

Have you looked into connecting flights or a nearby airport?
We have flown to Houston then to Florida to saved money... I know that there is a flight that CONNECTS in Houston, but that flight was much more.
We booked a one way ticket to Houston, then a one way ticket to Orlando... and saved about $50 per flight.
Check into something like that. You might find a great fare going to a nearby airport, then a better price going to florida.
