Default Me ?

Hope this is the right place to ask this. If not, please move to the appropriate forum.

Our AirTran flight on the 25th doesn't get in until 6:30 PM. I wanted to go earlier, but b/c of the discounted airfare, DH wanted this flight (hey, he agreed to DW on the spur of the moment, so I wasn't going to push it!).

Our plan is to just get to the POFQ via ME, eat something, swim, and go to bed. Not going to waste a day's ticket. We plan to pack all necessary items plus a change of clothes in our carry-ons.

HOWEVER, I've read stories of luggage not arriving until very late or in the middle of the night. Would we be wise to just gather our bags at the airport and bring them with us on ME?

TIA!

Luggage delivery can take up to 3 hours, usually less. If you arrive at 6:30, your bags should be there before 9:30.

It all depends. If 30 stories out of 5 MILLION satisfied customers scare you, then YES, get your own luggage.

There's no widespread luggage problem with DME. But there are a lot of people who post questions and concerns and anxieties about it.

Well, just to be prescise, Disney says to expect your luggage within 3 hours of RESORT arrival, not 3 hours from landing.

When I was there in May for a short stay I only did carry on so I didin't worry about it. When I got to the resort the information in the room said that luggage would arrive within 5 hours of your arrival not three. This was different from past stays when it did say 3 so it seems that they have increased the amount of time you may have to wait for luggage. We have used DME many times both with carry on and when we have checked luggage and it has usually arrived very quickly.

Hi there
Well we have never had any problems with Magical Express. What you can do is tag the luggage you want DME to pickup for you and take the rest of your luggage yourself to DME and DME will put it on the bus with you.We have done this it works good for having everything you need just in case.

Default Thanks to all

for your reassurances. We've done DME before (although DH calls it the Misery Express b/c we were on the bus for over an hour before we got to our hotel. But what the heck, you can't beat the convenience!) and it worked out fine.

As I said, my only concern was the latness of our arrival and a few horror stories I've read. But you're right, why let a few stories influence what has been, for millions of people, a wonderful experience?

I would think that arriving at 6:30pm mid week would not be a large crunch time at MCO and hopefully ME can pull your luggage and get it to you fast. I would think that as long as you have what you need in your carry on you should be good for the evening.
