JPL's June Stop at the World Day 3 Part 1 AK
Day 3 June 16th
Part 1 AK
Got up extra early to head out for EMH at the AK. WE caught a bus without much wait and arrived about 10 minutes or so before they started letting people in the park. When the gates opened we positioned our in a good spot to see the opening show and do the gauntlet back to EE. We walked with the crowd over to Everest and got right in line. We practically walked but decided since it was my friends first ride to wait for the front. This only added like 5 minutes to our wait maybe 2 or 3 trains. My friend loved it so when we got off we grabbed a FP for later. We stopped to see the Gibbon for a few minutes since they were very active, which I think I forgot to mention in Day 2. We had sometime to kill so grabbed a quick breakfast at the Tea company and then decide to head over to Africa. We arrived to a long wait at the Safari since the park had opened to all guests and had some time to kill before getting another FP. WE to a walk down the Pnagani Trail and saw some the animals and something I never saw in my life and not sure I care to again. The hippos were in pretty close and well let's say one took a number 2 and was spinning it's tail spraying it in the air not a good sight right after breakfast We laughed and said now there' something you don;t see everyday We continued down the trail and the Gorillas and Meerkats were very active. After we finished the trail we still had time to kill before we could get our next FP. So we walked around the shop in Africa and then headed to the area where you can find Davine unfortunately she wasn't out. We then got our FPs for the safari and headed back to ride Everest for the second time. On the way we walked through the Jungle Trek and stopped to watch the Gibbons for a few more minutes. We took our second ride on Everest again waiting for the front car and another great ride. He immediately called his wife and said you have to ride this it's awesome. My friend started to slow down a little and informed me his foot was bothering him where his flips were rubbing. We headed over towards Dinosaur and to see if we could catch a showing of Nemo. We missed the first showing of Nemo so we went to ride Dinosaur. We had a moderate wait of about 20 minutes which is about the longest I have waited for this in a few years. I actually almost forgot about the Bill Nye Preshow. After taking our Journey back in time and saving our dino. We headed back towards Africa for our Safari. We had some time so we stopped in a few shops along the way and arrived in Africa about 10 minutes before our FP time. WE took a nother look to see if DaVine was out but no luck again. We had a bit of a wait for the Safari even with FP since they are still only using one load platform. We finally boarded our vehicle and set off into the reserve. I was actually pleasantly surpirsed how many animals were out and active since it was a little later in the day. We got to see the baby Elephants again and one of the baby giraffes. There were a few animals close to the truck and overall a great experience. This time I paid a little more attention to the new spiel and I have to say it's a bit confusing. Thye said that people didn't understand the first one but this was left me saying huh After our Safari we decided to hop the bus back to Pop and then drive over to Epcot since we wanted to head over to DTD later that night. We grabbed some sodas since it was getting really warm and headed for the bus stop. After a short wait for the bus a quick stop at Blizzard Beach we were back at Pop.
I am going split into 2 parts since it is getting a little long. Actually I am more tired typing this then I was when experiencing it.

Nice day so far!
We didn't get to hear the new spiel at the safari. They were still using the old one the last time I went.

Hmm.. I fear for your friend's feet this early in. If your not a serious Flip wearer (as some of us are) your feet can take a beating in them all day. I have to take two pair when I go for 6 days, because the first pair always falls apart.
I didn't see that you rode Kali River Rapids. Tsk.
Ew to the hippos!

Heck, that's nothing - we saw two hippos "hugging" one year. The lady behind even told the CM to make them stop because there were kids on the jeep.
ready for part two!

He lives down here and that's pretty much all he wears he actually laughed at me for wearing sneakers I guess he chose poorly with his selection before he left home.

As a person that's only gone to AK once and that was just after it opened. Who or what is Davine?

Davine is a woman that dress to look like a living plant and blends in with the foliage. If you don't know what you are looking for you can walk right by and nevre see her unless she starts to move.

Maybe being a DLR regular I more used to it, but I think people are insane to wear flips to the parks. I have strollers, wheelchairs and children running over my feet constantly and I have track shoes on. Maybe DLR is more compressed is the problem. I just don't want my toes as road kill.

Sounds like another fun day, JP! We didn't have a chance to ride the Safari when we went so I'm kind of curious about this new spiel.
And ewww.. hippo waste...
