How likely is it that a discount will become available to the public for SSR for a room only reservation for late August? Is there a AAA discount on DVC resorts? How much does renting points cost usually? Any help or tips would be wonderful!

Can't help on the discounts for cash side but renting points is about $11 a point. If you do a search for DVC rentals you will see a number of sites that do it. It is not something we do on Intercot.
