Default Pofq ?

I just came back from a fun filled vacation at WDW and we stayed at the POFQ.. I was just wondering we stayed in building 5 our room # was 5109. We were on the first floor and we were a hop skip and jump to the pool, a 2 second walk to the dining hall 2 minute walk to the bus stop.. Is this considered a prefered room? When we booked the room we did not request a prefered room.. Maybe we just lucked out !! This was a very beautiful place to stay.. Very quiet and everyone was so nice..

Those Beignet were so delicious !!!!

I can't say from experience, but the room you described is almost exactly what I requested for our Sept trip! I've read here that building 5 is close to everything, and we always request a first-floor room.

One ?? though, did you notice if building 5 had riverview rooms?? We requested a waterview, but I would prefer the river to the pool.

TIA!

It's my understanding that the only moderate resort with "preferred" rooms is CBR. You did get lucky and got a really good location although really no room location is bad here. We were in building 4 on the first floor and it was also a great location. We can't wait to go back in August!

As the previous poster stated, it is not considered a preferred room. Actually at POFQ, a preferred room for me is a river view in either building 1 or 7 (the furtherest buildings away from the pool).

"Preferred," in Disney-speak, strictly refers to a closer-than-usual location to the public amenities of a resort (such as food court, main pool, etc.). CBR is the only Moderate with "preferred location" rooms.

POFQ has 2 possible upgrades, but neither of them are termed "preferred" by Disney. You can pay for a water view room (which could be a view of the river OR of the pool) or a king-size bed room (these are sprinkled throughout, they're not all in 1 location).
