If You'll Pardon an Old Man's Refurb
12/31/17 Despite still listing the following announcement on the official attraction page, "The American Adventure will be closed for refurbishment beginning early-January through early-February, 2018"; the operational calendar and Cast Reports have updated that the attraction refurbishment has been pushed back to January 15, 2018 through February 14, 2018. Attraction Cast have additionally reported that the month long refurbishment is expected to bring upgraded projectors and a new/updated finale film.
12/26/17 A popular Epcot attraction is planned for a refurbishment in the New Year. The American Adventure is scheduled to be closed for refurbishment January 5 through February 5, 2018.
A Whole New World
12/26/17 Area Cast have reported that the World of Disney is slated for a major renovation in 2018. Although dates have yet to be reported, it has been reported that a temporary retail site is being prepared in the Town Center to minimize impact to Guests.
The Once and Future Fountain
12/26/17 The former Muppets Courtyard has had its signature centerpiece (mostly) returned. Earlier this month the Miss Piggy Statue and Planter in the center of the now Grand Avenue area was transformed back into a fountain featuring Miss Piggy, Spitting Fish and a couple of Rizzo’s family members from the nearby PizzeRizzo. Although now devoid of Director Gonzo and Cameraman Fozzy statues, the fountain still seems to fit the area better than the inexplicable statue in a planter.
Mismatched No more
12/26/17 Disney Springs Cast have reported the closure of an eight year plus retail location. LittleMissMatched, opened November 2009 in the West Side and moved to the Marketplace in 2011, is set to permanently close December 31, 2017. A replacement for the soon-to-be vacant Marketplace location has yet to be announced.
Showcasing Showtunes
12/26/17 More details have been announced for Epcot’s 2018 International Festival of the Arts. The expanded festival will feature the return of the Disney on Broadway shows on the scheduled dates at 5:30 pm, 6:45 pm and 8:00 pm. Kara Lindsay and Kevin Massey will perform January 12-15 and 19-22, Kissy Simmons and Alton Fitzgerald White will peform January 26-29 and February 2-5, and Ashley Brown and Josh Strickland will perform February 9-12 and 16-19.

And yet again, the refurbishment hand doesn't have a clue what the event hand is doing. For the life of me, I'll never understand why Disney hosts a major event, in this case Marathon Weekend, and schedules a major refurbishment the day before. Can it not wait a week? Splash Mountain goes down this week almost every year.

I hope they do some good work on World of Disney. It is a mess, horrible traffic flow and generally feels like a torture chamber.

I agree, I never found the store manageable. Always made me feel very claustrophobic.
