Recent Hotel Experience in Lake City?
Hope I'm under the right forum! We will be driving in 15 days, and may be able to leave a day early, depending on DH's work. If so, we would like to head out and go to Lake City, probably, spend the night and get to the Magic at a good hour the next day. Hitch is we won't know till the day we can leave.  Last thread I saw about this was four years ago. Anybody been lately and can offer the latest advice? Looking for great price, but decent, clean, and last-minute availability.....

Several hotels in the area
We have stayed numerous times at the Hampton Inn with no issues and they have continental breakfast. Last year we stayed at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott with continental breakfast, though not bad we still preferred the Hampton. Hampton's breakfast is one step above with inclusion of eggs/sausage/bacon. There is also a Comfort Suites in same area. Great place to stop when you want to get into Disney World at reasonable time the next day.

We stayed in the Country Inn in Lake City in December on our way home from DW. It was clean, included refrigerator and deluxe continental breakfast and was under $100.

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn this past May. It was great. The staff were friendly, and the rooms were clean. Breakfast was a typical complimentary continental breakfast with a few hot things added. (Waffles and oatmeal) We arrived late and left the next morning, so I can't go into a lot of detail, but we were pleased.
