    Default Building an R2-D2

DH and DS are embarking on a fun and memorable jouney - they are building an actual R2-D2. He bought the styrene boards, printed the plans, bought a drill press, the special apoxy glue and they have completed step one and two.

I was just wondering if anyone else out there has built an R2. If so, do you have any good tips and advice?

Good luck. I know that in the Washington, D.C. area there is a R2-D2 club. Did you get the plans for the R2 from a R2 club?

There is a national builders club that has the plans available on their web site. I downloaded those and then had to get them printed at a local shop because they are 2'x3'. We then have to adhere the plans to the styrene sheets and cut them out. It's going to be a long process, but should be fun.
Nothing is impossible, it just hasn't been done yet!

Been there more times than I can count. Used to be close enough to watch the fireworks every night.
