    Default Rides at park closing

    Hi all!

In October AK closes at 5pm. How do they manage the lines for rides in the time up until closing? Can you get into line at 4:59, even if there is a posted 20 min wait?

Do the CMs usually let the last people on the ride go around more than once?

I've ridden Space Mountain after the park was closed. We got in line about 15 mins before closing, I don't remember what the posted wait was but it was more then 15 mins. They stopped letting people in the queue but let all of those who were in line ride the attraction. We exited Space about 15 mins after closing.

Yes, if you are in line at closing time you will ride, no matter what the wait time.

Depends on the ride and the way guests are loaded and unloaded. At Kali River Rapids you can often stay on and go again If there is no one waiting in the queue because guests are loaded and unloaded at the same place. But if the load and unload points are different (such as at Everest) all guests must exit and go back through the queue to ride again. Its not considered safe for guests to remain on a ride vehicle while it repositions to the loading area.

We have been lucky at Big thunder Mountain. If not is in the gate for the car they often let you stay on.

Yeah, like Ron said, if you're *in line* before the CM's close off the queue, no matter what the wait time is, you'll get on the attraction

As guests in the park, we've "closed" Spaceship Earth, Space Mountain, Speedway, Splash Mountain, Tower of Terror, and a couple of others. The CM's closed the chains/ropes of the queue just behind us as we entered.

It has always been our experience that as long as we entered the line by park closing we were allowed to ride. The CMs have always been great about it. We have never been made to feel that they were annoyed with having to stay past closing time.

One time in MK we got off the TTA and were running to try to get to Buzz before 10 (closing time). The CM at Buzz saw us coming and was like "hurry, hurry, and you guys can be the last guests to ride Buzz for the night". My kids thought it was so cool to be the last guests on Buzz that night.

The only time we were able to ride again at closing was on Kali at AK. We actually rode it 3 or 4 times. The first 2 times were before offical closing time (there were no guests in the line), but they let us go on at least 1 or 2 more times after closing time. We were all soaked to the bone when we were done, but it was such a blast. This was in the heat of summer so it was a great end to a very hot day at AK. It was our family, and a group of teenage boys in our raft. When our raft would come back through we'd begin chanting "one more time, one more time". It appeared that other guests in other rafts were riding again and again as well. Great memories!!

Safari may be an exception, as it has different end times then the park sometimes

That's a good point, there are some rides that post later in the day when their last ride will be (U.of Energy for example does this).
