Tigerinvestigator's July 2012 Family Trip Day 11 Departure Day
We woke up at 7am to get some things done. We got ready and packed pretty quick. I checked out and thanked everyone for a great stay....it really was a perfect stay. The staff was beyond excellent, the resort looked and smelled fantastic, and we feel so at home there. After getting our bags in our vehicle, I went to Guest Relations and upgraded my 7day park hopper with water park and more option ticket that I had purchased from The Official Ticket Center to an Annual pass. We then pointed our vehicle north and began the daunting, terrible, horrible, sickening, process of leaving the Magic for the stress of the real world. Stopped at the Hess across from DTD for gasoline and then we stopped at the Disney outlet at the outlet mall just outside the Disney gates. Picked up some souvenirs for some people back home and some extra brochures and then we were headed up the Florida Turnpike. Paid my little tolls and took the girls on one more little adventure they did not know about. We drove 80 miles from Disney to Homossassa Springs State Park and checked out the manatees in the wild. Also saw gators and other native species as well as some not so native species like a hippo. Great little park and we saved $9 more with our AAA discount. From Homossassa we drove up the West coast of Florida to Tallahassee and then on into Dothan Alabama where we had dinner at Cracker Barrel. We eventually stopped at a Best Western in Troy, Alabama for the night. With our AAA discount the room was $80. It was clean and we had a good night sleep.
Day 12 We woke up early and finished our trip home. We were home before 3pm and picked up our min pins Killer and Layla who were very happy to see us. We got unpacked, headed for church, and then fell asleep very satisfied with our great vacation. Thanks for reading and I will have my final thoughts on the trip as soon as possible.
