September?

I have booked a trip for September and wonder what to expect. I have only been to WDW during Spring Break and the week of Memorial Day. I am guessing crowds will be lighter. I don't know if they will offer the dining plan, but if they do does that affect anything? Also, what are the times for shows and park closing? I know at peak times Wishes is 9 and 11. I am assuming just one show? At 9 or 10? Also wondering if Micky's no so scary Halloween party is worth it? Any suggestions or things i should know? We will stay at the Wilderness Lodge for the first time. we have two boys.

Hot, humid and can rain on and off during the week. Party is a hoot, and I try to go every year, adults and kids dress up...light costumes due to the weather. There will be a Villain Day at the studios on the 13th... I find the crowds just right...not too heavy, but not empty either. Love, love, love the Lodge and boat over to MK.

September is a good time to go. It has lower crowds (no time has "low" crowds anymore). MNSSHP is a lot of fun. Especially if your boys enjoy dressing up for Halloween. Nothing like Trick or Treating in the MK and HalloWishes and seeing the Headless Horseman ride through the park are pretty awesome. Sept park hours are already released. Drawbacks to Sept - 1.) hot and humid. Only slightly better than August. 2.) Peak hurricane season 3.) So many people now expect the "free" DDP discount that the restaurants are insane, even if the parks themselves aren't, and even normal ADRs can be very difficult because everyone is on the DDP. So while the parks are pretty comfortable crowd-wise the restaurants feel like the busiest time of the year.
