Actually at $700 it's not a bad deal, considering it's premium.
You figure a WDW PAP alone goes for $605. Getting a year's worth of premium admission to DL for an additional $95 is a steal.
If you plan on using it.

Ugh. I found out about this a week too late! I just purchased our WDW park hoppers on base for our trip in two weeks. We all currently hold DL APs. I just threw down $1250 on passes and I have to renew DS pass next week. Oh well, there is a chance we'll be moving to Florida next year. If so, I can see us getting these, as we still have family here and have a reason to come visit CA.

Wow! Too rich for my blood. If I lived closer to either park and had my own private jet and a bucket of money..... maybe I would pop for it.
I bought a 10-day park hopper a year ago and have gotten 2 vacations out of it. And, I still have 3 days left over - whee!
Disney is probably trying to weed out folks like me who only go once or twice a year .

It's actually an excellent deal for people who live close to DLR or WDW and who visit the "other" park even just once a year.
We just paid about $325 (military discount price) for each adult 7 day hopper plus wp&m. The DL premium AP is $460 (military discount). Even considering the military discount, it's a savings of $85. It is over $100 savings over WDW gate prices...
However, we don't currently hold the Premium DL AP. We have deluxe passes. BUT, I'd not mind having a premium pass.
I can see it being very beneficial for those who, like I said, already have passes to one park and plan to visit the other one in any given year.

Count me in.
I live close to Disneyland and definitely see myself visiting the other parks at least once a year from here on out.
Just need to get my promotion then it is a done deal!

How about an annual pass for both parks that included blackout dates and drop the price a few hundred dollars for those of us who specifically avoid peak times. We were planning on doing the standard AP for Disneyland in the fall with two trips planned, if I could get a WDW AP with the blackout dates I would be on board.

You might want to check at Guest Relations.
The DL Resort annual passes can be upgraded to the new Premier Passport, but I don't know whether or not you can use the value of the WDW hoppers towards it. Then you would have the Premium benefits at DLR.
Of course the Premiers would expire on your existing DLR expiration date, but if you can use the hoppers' value, you'd be losing nothing.

Guests who currently hold active AP's for both coasts will automatically be upgraded to a Premier pass. This is a great one-time bonus if one of their existing passes is a lower-priced one with blackout dates.
I can't find any info on how the Premier's expiration date was determined for these guests.

I have a DLR Premium Pass ($439) -- and this past year I went to WDW park hopper for 5 days ($280) -- do the math, I could have bought this Premier Pass and made out on the plus side. This totally makes sense for those people that actually do visit both coasts.

Thinking about it now, this pass will help us more then we imagined. We were planning a December 2010 trip to Disneyland and a November 2011 trip to WDW, Now we can add a trip in May 2011 to WDW to see the F&G festival. I think this may pay off.
If only they would offer a DVC discount

I am so excited about this!! I was planning on getting WDW annual passes for me and the kids for the three trips I have planned to WDW in the next year. I am only a 6 hour drive from DL. With this pass, I am sure I can squeeze some quality time with the kids in at DL too.
