Default Sept 12-19 socially distanced trip

    Hi all.
Stayed sat-sat at boulder ridge. We were originally going to akl clublevel in may and they switched us to a one bedroom at wl. It was nice. I have always wanted to stay here and i am glad i did, but I do not feel the need to do it again. Taking a boat to the magic kingdom was nice and they have the BEST tuna fish sandwhich I have ever eaten. My heart belongs to akl and gf.
The crowds were good and disney did a great job keeping people feeling safe. The lines were long because if the sixfoot markings but moved quickly. Hollywood studios was the bussiest. Walked onto smugglers run and the wait was 80 minutes when we got off. Waited half hour for slinky. My friend waited for mickey and minnie but the hour plus wait in 100+ degree weather was not for me. It was hot several days and we had some bands of weather from the hurricane move through, but was otherwise good.
I was dissapointed in the food options.....very few of my favorites were avaiable. We did try the brown derby and whispering canyon this trip. Both are very good and I will return.
I was able to ride splash one last time. Bittersweet. Epcot is a mess. It is hard to get from point a to point b in future world.
Rise of the resistance was a no go. There is a 20 second opening to get in the queue. We were there two days so we have 4 opportunities. It was a bit dishearening when the lady from guest services told us that it filled in about 20 seconds. Maybe next time.
I am glad i went. Was scarrier to fly than be in the parks. May go back for a very short trip in december but i am not sure. There were next to no decorations for halloween. Unsure what christmas would be like.
But I also dont know if I can stay away!

Thanks for sharing your experience. I've been wondering how things were at the parks.

Thanks for the report! I have a friend that just got back with her 3 year old daughter and she said they had a good time except it was hot. I would never have gone with a child right now but it seems to have worked out ok for them. So the boat from WL to MK is running?

In epcot, both innovations and the coutryard between them, from spaceship earth to the walkway between the lakes into the world showcase, are boarded off. It is a vally of tunnels. It opens up by the land, nemo and figment and between mission space and test track. Was disorienting to me and I have been there over a hundred times. I am sure it will look great when its completed...... I am one who is resistant to change in Disney World, So I may have a skewed view.
My daughter and her husband drove down monday to saturday with their 2 year old. It felt safe. Disney is doing a good job.

Also, the boat was running from WL and FW to the MK only. The paddleboat was also going from ttc to mk. They did not serve any other property.

Many thanks! It is extremely interesting to know what exactly you need to prepare for when planning your trip. In general, you need to immediately collect data when you open a booking for the entertainment you want to visit. This was expected, but now you have confirmed that it is. Thanks for your experience.

Thanks for posting your experience. I've been wondering what it's been like and it's good to hear everyone's perspectives - especially as things change daily. Sorry you weren't able to do (and eat) everything you wanted. But as you said, there's always next time. That's the great thing about us Disney nuts - all roads lead to Disney!
