We have a DR for dinner in January, and was hoping for some feed back on food, atmosphere, and overall experience.
Been there, done that...CAN'T WAIT...going back!
1971 (YES, 71...tour the trailers that housed the miniatures of the rides, resorts and property), 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, 79, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 09, 11, 12, 13, 15, 18, 19 and soon....20! OVER forty eight years of Disney Dreaming!!
We weren't impressed. One thing thing that stood out in particular, that for my wife and I, ruined the whole experience. We ordered a meal for two - La Hacienda Parrallida- among other items, it claimed to have chorizo. Having lived in Texas most of my life, I know and love chorizo. I was FLABBERGASTED when what they claimed was chorizo was nothing more than a Slim Jim. It didn't just look like a Slim Jim, it was an actual Slim Jim. When you are paying that much for a meal, that is a joke.
Also, there was no salt and pepper shakers on any table. After our meal arrived, I had to ask for salt. That took several minutes. When the server showed up, she brought a salt shaker, but no pepper shaker. We had to ask for that too- and that took several minutes....all the while, my Slim Jim's were getting cold.
We weren't terribly impressed either. Although it's been a handful of years since we've been there. None of the entrees looked even remotely interesting. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share and had an OK meal.
