Default Understanding Menus and what is included in the Dining Plan

    Hello Everyone!

As i'm reviewing menus i'm seeing a lot of Specialites, Side, Starters, Apps, extras listed on menus. I'm aware that on the DDP you get an appetizer, main course and desert, drink etc. But what about things listed as Specialties and other random names are they included? Where can I learn about these things so I can educate my family and avoid disappointment if they can't order it or see if we can add it on.

    Thanks for all your help,

    Lisa

You can go on the My Disney Experience website and read all about choices included with each dining plan. Depending on which plan you get will depend on what your choices are. The deluxe plan is the only one that includes a choice of appetizer now. The regular dining plan only includes choice of entree, desert and a cocktail for those over 21. If you order a side dish that is separate from your entree that will be an additional charge. Same with appetizers. Most table service restaurants will go over it when they seat you

    On the DDP you get:

    1) Entree (main course)
    2) Dessert
    3) Drink (one 'adult' beverage IS allowed, where available)

That is it. No more appetizer, and no more tip included.. They only did those for the first year or two.

For snack credits, anything with the DDP symbol (you'll know it when you see it) can be 'purchased'

This is a good rundown of the plan:

If you want additions, or 'upgrades' to the menu, some things are available for an 'upcharge' -- pay the difference between the regular menu item and the higher priced item. BUT, you will find MOST items to be included as part of the standard DDP listing.

And just to add another level of crazy you can do 3 snacks at one location and usually you can use a QS credit. This works great at the festival booths. Also some restaurants will allow you to substitute some sides/apps as your dessert. We have done this with French onion soup and a few salads before. It is at the reataurant discretion so you never can really plan on the answer.
