Yes, I have read this same article, but this was the only place I saw this information.

IF this should happen, and not just be a temporary thing during holidays with hard-ticket events -- MNSSHP & MVMCP -- it could be a precursor to having two 'shifts' to a park day. By that I mean that you could buy a "Daytime" ticket, good for park open until around 5pm, and/or an "Evening" ticket which would cover the 5pm until park close time frame.

At the rate Disney is going with hard-ticket events, Moonlight Magic, Disney After Dark, and the normal 'parties,' it is getting more and more difficult to be in a park after dark anyway.

I will withhold stronger judgement until I see corroboration of this information and see how far they are willing to go in this direction -- for not just MK, but all parks.

Currently, it appears that there will at least be far fewer Evening Extra Magic Hours events starting in October 2019.

Due to the expansion of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, and tentative Late 2019 Disney After Hours Dates; Evening Extra Magic Hours may potentially be greatly reduced or not offered at the Magic Kingdom until January 2020.

With no announcement from Disney, the changes are only speculative.

EMH hours just make it chaos anyways. I'm not a big fan.

But, like others have said. Who knows if this is accurate intel.

I think it is more like they are going to keep adding more and more hard ticket evening events until they are doing them almost every night which pretty much eliminates EMH in the process or people quit buying tickets for them.
