Indiana Jones and the Forbidden Refurb

The rumour mill is beginning to churn again for the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The opening year attraction is rumorued to be slated for its first major refurb in approximately three decades. As part of the Walt Disney World 50th plans for the park, the stunt show is expected to close for a 10 – 12 month refurbishment in 2020 re-opening with a new version of the show in 2021. The new show is expected to remove the notion of a working stunt team/studio and re-theme the attraction to you omnipotently observing an Indiana Jones adventure.

Rise of the Blue Shirts

After several months of testing, the Walt Disney World resort has internally announced that it will be making its Guest Experience Teams and Kiosks a permanent offering at all four theme parks. The blue shirt clad Cast Members are expected to continue their services relating to helping Guests with Magic Band and My Disney Experience issues/questions in both mobile teams moving through the parks and stationed at static kiosks.

A Perplexing Observation

Disney Springs has recently added some new interactive streetmopshere. Guests near the Planet Hollywood Observatory now have the opportunity to meet and interact with Plex the robot. Plex is currently appearing intermittently from Noon till 8:00pm, Monday – Friday.

Shopping Shake-Up

Disney’s Hollywood Studios continues to makes changes to several retail locations. To complete the previously announced expansion into the former Planet Hollywood Super Store location, Legends of Hollywood has closed for a multi-month refurbishment. Keystone Clothiers on Hollywood Blvd has also closed for a multi-month refurbishment. With both projects slated to re-open in Summer 2019; it is speculated that they are tied to the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening in either new store content or more open layouts to better accommodate larger crowds.

2/3/19 Sunset Blvd. at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has had some significant shop switches in recent years. After the total replacement of its two corner stores, change is making its way further down the boulevard. The Planet Hollywood Super Store closed on February 2, 2019. The next door Legends of Hollywood is reportedly planned to expand into the former location.

Blacktop Dreams

As Disney’s Hollywood Studios continues to transform to find a new identity, so does its initial gateway. The park has internally announced that its new bus stops will open March 19th along with a “new” parking lot. The primary changes to the parking lot appear to be in name only as the soon to be former Stage, Film, Music, and Television lots will be rechristened as Mickey & Minnie, Olaf, Buzz & Jessie, and BB-8 lots.

Make New Stores, but Close the Old

A Disney Springs Tenant has internally announced that it is ending its lease with the Walt Disney World resort after an approximate 7 year run. Something Silver has announced it will not renew its lease for its West Side location when it expires later this Spring and has already closed its Sublime kiosk location.
