Default Driving to Disney from PA

So, we are set to leave on Saturday. Normally we would drive 95, but with all of the closures we will be taking a different route. We had planned to drive straight through, but with the added miles we are thinking about spending the night in NC or SC. What hotels, exits, have you stayed that won't break the bank? This is an expense we weren't planning on.

You may want to double check your current proposed route. It might be a bit longer, but heading over to I-81 might give you a 'safer' trip. I-81S to I-40W to I-75S. Maybe a stop around Knoxville, TN.

The only hassle there would be around Atlanta, but I am sure there are ways around that.

I fly out of Baltimore anymore, so don't really know what costs -- time and money -- would be involved.

I don't know that you want to come this far west, but from Western NY (near Lake Erie) we take I79 to I77 and pick up I95 somewhere south of Columbia, SC. It should be far enough to the west in NC that it would avoid the majority of the flooding and by tracking back to I95 in SC, it avoids the Atlanta area entirely. We usually stop just into SC...the name of the town escapes me at the moment.

It looks like you could take I81 to I77 just outside of Wytheville and go south from there.

If this is a route you might consider, I can get you more details.

Given the current flooding that is closing portions of 95, I would agree with PopPhan's suggestion to take I-81 to I-40 and I-75. If you spend the night in the Knoxville or Chattanooga area, then you shouldn't have too many problems in Atlanta, just follow your GPS suggestions.
