March 2019- Pros & Cons
My friend and I will be in Disney from March 2-6. I have never gone at this time and would love to hear all your knowledge about going at this time. Thank you

If there Flower & Garden Festival is going on then, that is definitely a plus.
I'll meet you at the Rainbow Bridge.

March is a busier time because of college and school breaks, and special events like cheer competitions, but it's certainly not impossible to still have a good time. With Easter being late this year, it shouldn't be too bad. If you stay on property, make Fast Pass + reservations at your 60 day window. Have a loose plan for what parks you want to be in on which days of your trip. Flower and Garden is happening at EPCOT, which is really pretty.

Normally, the earlier you go in March, the better. But in 2019, keep in mind that March 5th is Mardi Gras. That tends to bring in some big (and sometimes rowdy) crowds to Disney. But it's manageable! I agree that Flower and Garden is fun at EPCOT. Something else to consider - if you're into baseball. The Braves play spring training games at WWoS - their spring season will have started by the time you're down. Have a great trip!

Even if you are not a baseball fan keep this in mind, if you are staying in any of the resorts near WWoS. I got stuck in baseball traffic one year, trying to get back to Pop for an afternoon break.

Hadn't thought of that, but yes - I can see that being an issue for certain home games. There tends to be a lot more traffic for certain games - especially when they host Mets, Phillies, Yankees, or Red Sox. Those teams have large fan-bases who like to travel from the cold northeast to sunny Florida in March! But traffic those days could definitely be an issue.

As a Canadian, our spring break tends to fall mid-month (in 2019 it will be March 11-15).
We always go to Florida for 2 weeks in March, and historically the week BEFORE our spring break is really quite manageable for crowds (March 4-8). Probably around March 9 or 10, you will see the crowds really start to pick up as all the Canadians come down for their holiday!
So if you're going to be there March 2-6 I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the crowds. I won't say the parks are EMPTY, but it's very manageable.
The weather is nice, however it can get pretty cool, especially at night. Some years we go swimming if we're feeling brave, but other years we are doubling up on sweatshirts and wearing mitts! So check that forecast before you go!
