    Default FP+ Booking Frustrations

My 60+ day window opened this morning and I was all ready to go. The night before I made sure my spreadsheet was in order and then set my alarm for 6:30am. Got up, made coffee, fed the cats, and then logged into MDE.

At exactly 7am I refreshed and started booking. I was able to make 3 selections on 3 different days (Slinky Dog and Flight of Passage x2), but then the site was erroring like crazy. Nothing would go through. It would take forever and then I'd get headless Olaf telling me something was wrong.

Tried the app, same results. After a solid hour of not getting anywhere, and ready to my throw computer out the window, I gave up to take a shower and get ready for the day.

Tried again at 8:30, still errors.

Continuously for the next hour, all issues.

Then finally, around 9:30am, it finally started working.

I was able to mostly get everything I planned for, but not all the times were ideal.

Just just a warning for anyone planning to start at exactly 7... prepare for malfunctions.

When I was talking to a cast member yesterday she gave me a number to call if I had problems with MDE. Apparently since the play app went live they have been having problems

Sorry for the frustrations!! The app does appear to go down quite a lot.

I've had that happen more often than not ... I think on the last trip it took until 2:30pm to actually get everything booked.

Oh, how aggravating! I would have been livid, especially since I have to get up at 4:30, because of the time difference. I'm glad you went for those really hard-to-get ones first! I often shake my head and wonder what this whole experience would be like for a first timer. I think back to my first trip, where I didn't know to book ANYTHING more than a few weeks in advance and was heartbroken not to get a seat at Cindy's. These days I think I would just give up altogether if it was new to me!

I had a horrible experience with this! I did the same, had everything ready 2 days before and it was nothing but errors for about 45 minutes then I called and it was more than a 90 minute wait time before ANYONE would be talking to me. I decided to stay on the web as I waited. When it finally did work I was shut out of many choices and had to change many dining reservations.

Still for the life of me, I can't grasp why people laud this system. I hate everything about it.

We just booked our FP+ assignments about two or three weeks back, but I don't go into it with any strong expectations aside from that we 'd like to link FP+ with any dining ressies. Generally we were pleased, but FP+ isn't necessarily a make or break for us. We haven't been to WDW as a family since the Avatar space opened at AK, but we were able to book for all those attractions. Likewise this will obviously be our first outing at TSL and we are booked for there as well. It's a win/win for us! And you can count us as FP+ fans!

It is a constant source of frustration. Since they put all of the FP+ and other MDE stuff in place, I have had problems every single trip with both the planning stage and while actually at the parks and resort. Nothing but problems.

I can answer that one for you. I have a couple of friends and acquaintances that have gone on their first trip ever in the past two years. Every single one of them said planning and dealing with it was the most frustrating vacation they have ever planned. Every single one of them said they will most likely never go back. They all said they enjoyed the attractions and shows but hated everything about all the planning, dealing with scheduling conflicts, problems with the app and running around in circles trying to get to their FP and dining on time.

Same here. I absolutely 100% hate everything about it. In fact, back a few months ago I had a special offer pin code and made a reservation. When our FP window opened and we started trying to deal with fighting the system and trying to schedule everything where it would be efficient and make good use of our time, it quickly turned into a big pain in the rear and becoming disorganized because of what and the times that were available as we attempted to schedule. I finally just shoved the keyboard and said that is it we are cancelling and going somewhere else. We did exactly that and went on a road trip instead. It is just absurd that they have made it so complicated and infuriating to try to schedule what is supposed to be a vacation.

I agree, it was much easier before Disney started this whole Fast Pass thing.
