Exclamation Flamingo Crossings Project Shows New Life with Permits for 4 New Hotels

The Flamingo Crossings project has shown new life with the recent filing of permits for 4 new hotels:

4 New Affordable Hotels Are Coming to Disney World

The four hotels will be in Flamingo Crossings, just outside Disney World

Disney World will soon have even more options for where to stay.

Building permits for four new hotels were filed last week ...The new hotels, which will be at Flamingo Crossings, will be affordable chains, including Homewood Suites, Home2 Suites, Fairfield Inn, and Residence Inn.

A planned 998 rooms will be available across the four hotels, and there will also be a new convention space, and a pool area. The new hotels are slated to open sometime in 2019.

Flamingo Crossings, on the western edge of the Disney World resort, is a mixed-use development area with affordable options, such as third-party hotels, for Disney Parks visitors. The area is just outside the entrance to the park, so it’s still a convenient area for park goers who want to save some money. Originally announced in 2007, the area has had some setbacks, but the new hotels are a sign of good things to come.
Baker Barrios, the design firm for the Fairfield Inn and Residence Inn sites, has published what appears to be the site plan for the 4 hotels:

Because there weren't enough hotels locally? I mean - I guess new is good?

And where are all these guests supposed to fit???

The parks felt full to the brim a few weeks ago! In over 20 trips taken in the past 22 years I have never seen so many people in the parks, and lines as long as they were on this past trip! I felt like there weren't enough attractions to handle the amount of people as it was! Between the new hotels coming to Disney property, the perks being given to some off site properties, and now this....somethings gotta give eventually!

Totally agree it's too crowded. Doesn't seem to be a slow time anymore.
