    Question Late February?

I will be retiring mid February 2019 and will be celebrating with a trip to my most favorite place. I am looking to see if Presidents Day week (18-23) or the week after (24-02) would be better for WDW. We plan one week there and one week at the beach, just not sure which to do first. Historically are there any dining or room discounts offered during that time frame? Any tips and info anyone can give me will be helpful. Thanks in advance for your help.

Cathy, I'd contact Magical Journeys, a sponsor of this site, they are the best and can follow your reservation for any deals as they become available.

Mardi Gras will be March 5th next year so you should be all clear on that front. In the past MG didn't affect crowds too badly, but seems each year it gets more and more crowded. My SIL and her family, who have been multiple times for MG, said this year crowds were the worst she has ever seen. It was worse than Thanksgiving and summer crowds. So your second set of dates would be my pick. I would avoid Pres. day weekend. We were leaving Disney on that weekend years ago and the line of cars waiting to enter MK was miles long.

I would avoid President's Day week at all costs. There's a RunDisney event the 21-24.

I'd also avoid Presidents' Day week. That said, there doesn't seem to be any slow weeks at Disney any more. Crowds have been heavy on an ongoing basis. Congrats on your retirement!!

I would absolutely avoid President's week. We are going the last week in February and there are some crowds as there is often a competition at Wide World of Sports those weekend but it's much more manageable than Presidents' week for sure. Congrats on retirement!

If you are thinking Swan/Dolphin or Coronado, might consider the conference schedule. Busy time of year for those at those resorts.

We visited the week of 2/24 this year and it was great - busy, but I’m guessing maybe less than the holiday week. The weather, which had been very warm up until that time, became more temperate and comfortable.
