    Default Magic Band question

Does anyone know if you can add money or Disney Gift Cards to the magic bands?

You don't add anything to the MagicBands themselves. What you do is put whatever cash or credit/gift cards you want to use on your Room account and go from there.

We were just told that we couldn't put a gift card down at the hotel that we would have to come back the night before we check out and just pay off any balance that we had with the gift card at that time.

As mentioned, nothing is ever actually ON the Magic Bands. They are merely access media to your MDE account.

You can go to the front desk of your resort and they can establish a credit balance on your account with cash. You cannot use giftcards to establish a credit balance. It is not allowed. You CAN use giftcards to pay for any charges made to your account.

Think of the Magic Band as a skeleton key. The key is useless without the lock. The lock is attached to different treasure chests. One chest has your FP+ treasure and your park ticket treasure. Another is your room account where your filthy lucre is stored, etc. It's like being a pirate!
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow!
