    Default Travel insurance

Travel Insurance Advise. WDW used to offer travel insurance, but it seems to be no longer available. Do any of you buy your insurance independently. If so, who do you use or who could you recommend. I have a few leads, but would love to hear from this group.

I don't. When I was younger, and it was either not used, or when tried to use, not quite what it seemed. Like any insurance, a gamble that something bad will happen, and how likely do you feel that is to be the case. And like most ins, doesn't pay off like you think. Lots of fine lines.

So, are you a heavy insurance and buy extended warranty type of person?

I've purchased for a couple of trips to Nassau and used Allianz Global. Luckily never had to collect.

Not a heavy insurance user, but usually bought it from the Disney travel agent. It was only 75 a person or so. these other sites want closer to 250 per trip

I kind of agree with Texas. I've been kicking myself a bit for not getting insurance, at least on my flight, because what if something goes wrong? BUT I tried to claim travel insurance for a non-Disney trip a couple of years ago, and it really was not what I thought it was, and I ended up losing about $1600 because my cancellation didn't qualify as I thought it should have. At the very least, make sure you read the whole thing and understand it upside down and backwards - I THOUGHT I had!

Yeah, like all insurance, their job is not to pay out. I view many of those types of likes, like extended warranties, are like insurance in black jack. Just doesn't pay out like you want.
