    Default Alternatives to Mara

Since AKL is going cashless, I need to cut our Mara breakfast out. Is there a good alternative? I can't think of the name of the dish we loved so much there. Essentially I am looking for a quick service breakfast that isn't the same ol' mickey waffles and eggs.

I was surprised to hear about AKL going cashless. If you really wanted to keep the breakfast, you could purchase a GC with cash, and then use the GC for the breakfast.

It isn't a CS, but we loved breakfast at Olivia's at OKW, and it wasn't too expensive!

I was just looking at Old Key West to possibly stay for our Christmas trip. I will have to check out the menu. Thank you.

I agree with Heather about the GC and especially about Olivia's! We have never had issues getting a table there, even when walking up. We have enjoyed all of our meals there, it truly is one of the hidden gems.

I don't really understand this whole cashless movement - but it says that you can give cash deposits at the hotel desk to activate charging privileges. Sounds like a stupid, roundabout way to do things, but could that work for you if you don't want to go elsehwere for breakfast?

Keep in mind this is a test and could go away between now and May. CS would be easy to change at the last minute and you said Mara was a must do for you and your friend so there's still a chance. If not you could always pick up a VISA/AX gift card before your trip, at least then if there's anything left on the card you could use it at home.

I think Olivia's is a choice worth looking at, we enjoyed our meals there.

We are staying offsite this trip or else that would have worked.

Olivia's is not a quick service tho, unless I missed something. I agree with the FQ food court. I love it there ....

Get a giftcard. You'll use the rest somewhere before you go.

Well, Mara doesn't have the African breakfast platter any more, which is what my friend and I loved. The eggs with the chakalaka were delicious. That makes the cashless system a moot point.

We are going to be at Epcot the day we were planning on stopping at Mara, so we will just grab food on the go in Epcot. (I may just have schoolbread for breakfast. )

Definitely planning on visiting Olivia's later this year though.

Are you sure? It's still showing on the Disney menu.

Anyway, grab and go works too. I've never tried the breakfast in France but people say it's very good.

Weird. When my friend and I finally got a second to talk and he reminded me what it was called, we looked at the menu and all that showed was the Bobotie platter. Happy to know it is there.
