Disney Parks & Resorts have announced several more details for the forthcoming Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge including a hint that MagicBands may be used to extend the story of your ride experience into interactions in the land itself:

... One of the land’s two signature attractions will put you in the cockpit of the Millenium Falcon, piloting the ship, shooting blasters or preparing for hyperspace – all while completing a critical mission.

But how you perform on the mission holds even bigger stakes: perform with skill and you may earn extra galactic credits, while bringing the ship back banged up could put you on the list of a bounty hunter. End up on Harkos’s list and you may face a problem if you show up at the local cantina.

... Only one {food & beverage} item has been announced for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge so far and that’s the blue milk Luke Skywalker made famous in “Star Wars IV: A New Hope.”

... Guests will also encounter many familiar faces inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, including BB-8, Chewbacca, members of the First Order and – among many others – Rex, the troublesome pilot you may remember from the previous version of a certain Disney attraction who takes on a new role in this land as the DJ at the cantina.

As part of the Star Wars: Galactic Nights hard-ticket event at Disney's Hollywood Studios, a panel presentation on the new land revealed a few more details and concept art for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge:

  • The experience inside the Millennium Falcon is being created with a close attention to detail and a large portion of the the attraction will be traversing through the ship itself as Guests will "climb through that hatch, walk through her hallways, sit inside the cockpit". • More examples of the themed, immersive retail experiences were detailed. The proprietary of one stall in the Batuu market place will be a Toydarian (the winged, minor antagonist from Episode I) with toys "straight out of the Star Wars galaxy". It was also noted that merchandise in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will not be available in other areas of the park or elsewhere around Walt Disney World.
