Last year we arrived on January 8 (Sunday of Marathon weekend) and there were still decorations at MK but when we went back on the 10th they were gone.

I think it depends on the day that new years falls, which kind of dictates when the Holiday crowds goes home.

When we were there in 2015, end of January, the decorations were down, however, the crane was still in place behind the Castle as they were taking down lights each night. I'm guessing that is the last thing to come down and unfortunately you end up with a crane in most of your Castle photos. Maybe they've found a way to speed it up since then, but they were still working on it until February at the time.
