    Exclamation Hurricane Irma. Prayers

I'm right in the path of Irma in a mobile home. Hopefully not too mobile. I could really use some prayers and pixie dust that I'm not left homeless. Ginger and I will be with friends during the storm. It should be a cat 2 according to the news. I'm rounding up pictures, papers and anything that can't be replaced. Using the dishwasher, washer and dryer for storage. Hopefully that works.

    Any other suggestions??

Good luck to you, it's nice that you will be surrounded by friends.

Put the pictures and important papers in new clean trash bags, squuze most of the air out and tie the end in a knot before you put it in the over or washer. Give you extra protection from moisture damage.

Thanks.. It's not only me. There are a few others here as well. Ed, Beach Club Babe, Christine. Basically anyone living in Florida. This hurricane is larger than the state. Everyone will be under warnings.

They want everyone in safe shelter before 5 pm Saturday. I wish the best for all who live here or are visiting.

If it starts flooding, make sure the papers are in bags. Depending on where your dryer vent is, dishwasher, i'd be concerned about backwater or what not. tupperware and put in a cooler and up high could be good. Have a yeti?

Luckily I have a raised foundation. I'm also on a ridge. Flooding isn't the problem for me m. It's the wind. I'm bringing important paper with me.

Sorry to be chiming in a bit late, but it's always a good idea to take picture with your phone of your home and belongings to use for insurance purposes later, if need be.

Be safe, Marci! I'll be thinking of you and everyone else in the path of Irma.

The eye is over us now. Lots of wind and rain. We still have power , thank goodness. My dog is sleeping like a log. Haven't seen any flying debris. My friends pool cage is still up, although one for won't stay closed. Hoping there is no or little damage to my house.

Update: so far we have had power throughout the night. Pool cage is intact. Winds are down quite a bit. Still need to check my house mid/late morning.

Final update: My house is still standing. No roof leaks, minor siding damage. I'm very lucky!! Thanks for riding along hurricane Irma with me. Things could have been much worse.
