Default Legoland? Is it worth the hassle of renting car?

My kids are obsessed with Legos, and I keep getting all these Legoland coupons in their lego bags. Has anyone tried Legoland? If we are staying in Disney Springs area is it worth trying to get transportation over there? The website isn't the greatest, and I don't know if it will be worth the effort. Thanks! Have a 5 and 7 year old obsessed with Star Wars and Legos.

Well it sounds like your post subject essentially spelled it out. If you think it will be a hassle then it will probably end up being a hassle, right? We pondered the same excursion a few years back when our youngest was then 9. For us there is always more than enough to do on property so in the end we decided against it. Unfortunately unless your children are very young then there doesn't seem to be enough compelling attractions to really make it worth the trip. I know once at WDW our son never asked again about Legoland.

I think Legoland is neat for the locals. We currently live about 25miles from there. Having visited when we first moved here, I'd never go out of my way to make a return trip. I was fortunate enough to get a steep discount on admission. Their current rates are excessive for what they offer. I'll put it to you this way. We visited on a homeschool day and I was able to get 1 adult and 4 children in for around $90 total (excluding parking fees). Even at those rates, I'm not clamoring to get back anytime soon.

On the plus side, they offer a pizza buffet for an extremely reasonable price. And to be fair, it was blazing hot on the day we chose to visit. Perhaps I'd have a higher opinion had I chosen to wait for the weather to cool down.

Thanks for the info. The prices do seem steep to me, and I keep reading that they close alot of attractions if its raining....well October in Orlando seems like there's a good chance of rain to me. I think we will just stick with the Disney Springs Lego store and stay on WDW property this time. In the past for business trips we have had a rental car and extra time, so I think we'll just wait. Thanks again for your input!

You are quite right! Even though it's not necessarily a hassle I'm dreading, I just know its not going to be as easy as hopping on the Disney bus or walking to the Lego store. But it might be worth trying if I get alot of good feedback. I don't really see that much info on it online. I think it may just be better for us this time to stick to WDW and the DS Lego store. Thanks for your input!

My friends family likes it. Course they, like us, always rent a car as I enjoy the freedom and flexibility.
