In a perfect world when would you go to Disney

In a perfect world when would you book your trip to Disney World?

Taking into account:
Funds were available & ready to be spent;
Kids school days were not an issue;
Airline tickets were on sale;
Free dining was available;
Crowds were at their lowest;
Pick a resort any resort;
And of course weather was at it's best;

I LOVE going at the beginning of October. Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Food & Wine Festival. It isn't too crowded.
The weather is ok - a little cold for my taste, but perfect for a lot of the people I go with.
I pick my resort based on who I am going with for the most part. My preferences by category are Pop Century, Port Orleans Riverside and Animal Kingdom Lodge.

The end of October into the beginning of November. We love the Halloween and Christmas parties. We actually were there that time last year. Resorts - Poly, Coronado Springs or French Quarter.

September/October is the best trip we ever had. I love the decorations at Christmas, but the weather was often too chilly for me. Late September early October was gorgeous weather and the lowest crowds I've seen. Unfortunately, it is not a time I can ever do again since I'm a teacher! For resort, I think I'd stick with Riverside, although I've always kind of wanted to try the Poly. I'm just not sure I'd actually like it!

I always enjoy my week after Thanksgiving trips with Christmas theming and shows, but early January is also nice for crowds even though the temps can be rather confusing - one day 70, the next 50, end of April/early May is nice as well with Flower & Garden going on.

As far as where to stay, I would go back to Port Orleans: Riverside, I think. I like the layout of the resort, Yee-Haw Bob in the RiverRoost Lounge and the transportation -- buses to parks and boats to Disney Springs. If I were to choose a Deluxe/DVC resort, I think I would have to go with Animal Kingdom Lodge with a savannah view room.

BUT, in all honesty, I would go to WDW any time but summer (late May through mid September) and stay anywhere on property and be extremely happy.

Well after much deliberation and many heated Sunday dinners with my adult children. The family and I have decided to arrive at Disney World November 3rd stay 5 nights thru November 8th. Then get up to the Cabana Bay for 4 nights. I hope I'm not making a mistake is is warm enough to hit the water parks in November and how are the crowds seeing the 10th is a holiday. I'm not use to such a short Vacation normally we do at least 2 weeks. Oh and what would be best or cost effective way for such a large party to get from Disney to Universal then to airport at the end of trip?

It is very likely you will be absolutely fine with the weather. We've been down in early November several times, and have enjoyed a lot of pool time.

Sorry - not sure what to tell you about the transportation question. But others will help you out!

The crowds could be heavy with the holiday. We were there this past November and the crowds were high. Especially EPCOT with Food & Wine. We still had a great time just some longer wait times than we usually have.

You'll be fine then. All Disney pools, and I would expect Universal as well, are heated. The big thing would be the outside temperature and difference between water and air.

Anytime in the fall (no kids though), at AKL at the savanah view rooms. I'd stay for at least 2 weeks and have a rental car. Airline would be jet blue. I'd enjoy food and wine and maybe Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. I would also like to score 1 reservation to Victoria and Albert's. Now that sounds like a dream vacation to me.

LOL, when we lived in Massachusetts we went to WDW in November and had a great time swimming, while the CM lifeguards sat in their winter jackets, shaking their heads as they watched the "crazy" northerners swimming in 70 degree weather. Now we live in a sub-tropical climate (the southern tip of Texas) and if we go in November, we're sitting there in our winter jackets also, and the New Englanders are loving the pool. We used to go to Maine every June and watch our feet turn blue when we stepped in the ocean.

Forgot to answer OP's question. We'd go in late January, early February. However, having been almost every month, I've found pros and cons to every time. My second favorite time is October, the F&W, but now that they're starting to have food booths at the F&G, that may become a favorite.

November is our first choice, once the Christmas decorations are up. Second choice is in the spring, usually mid to late April. Spring Break is over, but school's not close to being out yet. We've been in October before when it was in the 90's every day, which was awful. We do often go in September, though, just because it works out better.

One thing we've never concerned ourselves with is taking the kids out of school. And what I mean is that we have no problems taking them out of school to go on vacation, especially when they're young. I mean, we have had people tell us that they would never take their 4th grader out for a week to go on vacation, and we're like, "What in the world is that kid going to miss in 4th grade that is going to set them back academically or developmentally?" I mean, as they get older (high school), it can be a bit tougher as they are in AP classes or have exams and projects. I get that. But when they are in elementary or middle school? So what? They can make up the worksheets, or take them with you and do it in the car on the ride down and back. If you let the teachers know ahead of time, they'll often work with you, and sometimes give them assignments pertaining to the trip, even to Disney!
