Avatar Land Opening Date?

We will be in WDW 8/26-9/3/17. I am hearing "Summer 2017" for opening of Avatar Land. Any idea if this is likely to happen? Have never seen the movie and cannot say I am overly excited by the opening right now but will certainly want to check it out if it is open. Thanks.

No official date yet, but your trip dates appear to be very likely so far.

AndyPooh I would recommend watching Avatar in case it is open or you will not understand the back story for the land. It is an amazing movie that is worth watching regardless. You can search Google images for recent photos of the progress and usually reports on the progress.

Definitely watch the movie, and you are good as far as dates. It will be open Memorial Day week. Then full steam ahead on Star Wars and Toy Story!

Yes AndyPooh, definitely watch the movie, its pretty awesome and from the pictures I have seen, Avatar land seems to have alot of the movie spot on.
I am going in July, hoping that it may be open, but not getting hopes up yet.

Disney Parks Blog just posted that the opening date is May 27th.
