'Ohana or Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show
I just wanted to get some opinions....we usually end our trip by having dinner at 'Ohana and have been doing this for awhile, but have never been to the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show. We were thinking of switching things up and trying the show, but wanted to find out how the food is? the show?
Also, on the Disney website it says ..."In addition to soft drinks, lemonade, coffee and other non-alcoholic beverages, Guests 21 years of age and up can enjoy beer and wine with their meals. For an added charge, indulge in a fruity cocktail—like the tropical rum punch served in a hand-carved coconut keepsake." Does this mean that beer and wine is included with the meal and the added charge would only be for fruity cocktails?

We did the luau about 7-8 years ago, and once was enough for us. We didn't think the show was all that great and the food at ohanas is much, much better. Glad we did it once, but it is something we likely won't ever repeat.

We really enjoyed it when we went a few years ago. We have food allergies so only had some of the regular food but we liked everything that was served. We don't drink so can't answer that question.
I say give it a shot. We have restaurants we love that people don't or vice versa. You never know unless you try.

We've been to the luau twice, taking family who wanted to go. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give it a 5. Very limited menu, and the food was mediocre. Beer and wine are included in the price for guests 21 or older. Mixed drinks extra cost. Show was moderately entertaining. I'd opt for 'Ohana. In fact, we are going there tonight for dinner.

Thanks for the info... will have to check with everyone and see what they want to do. We love 'Ohana, but wanted to try different things. Like someone said, what one likes another may not. Had that experience at a couple places before so we will see.

If you are looking for a show then maybe the Hoopty Doo Review is a good option?

We have done it once out of pocket and it was horrible. We were invited to a "limited" menu / show a couple of years ago when they were trying to sell us a vacation club for the over the water villas. That dinner and show, however limited, was also horrible ... too hot to enjoy, too pricy for the menu and the show is nothing close to a real luau.

I agree - if you're looking to change it up and want to see a show, I would suggest the Hoop Dee Doo Review. (Beer and wine included). The show is awesome!!! We go every year.
