Tidbits
January 2017

More Time to Dine

1/2/17
Disney’s Hollywood Studios has confirmed that their Seasonal Character Meals will continue into 2017. Minnie’s Silver Screen Dine will be the first seasonal character meal for 2017 and will be offered January 7th through March 19th.

Characters in Refurb

1/2/17
Looking to the skies above Disney Springs may soon bring a new sight. The Characters in Flight balloon is scheduled to be closed for refurbishment 1/9/17 – 1/13/17 in order to replace the balloon with a new appearance and color palette that fits the new Disney Springs aesthetic.

A Whip By Any Other Name

1/2/17
Dole Whips (or something presumably very similar) can now be found at a second location at Walt Disney World outside a theme park. Marketplace Snacks in Disney Springs recently added Pineapple Soft Serve to their menu priced at $4.19.

A Sweet Return

1/2/17
A popular snack has returned to Disney’s Animal Kingdom after almost a full year hiatus. After leaving the park in February 2016, Churros have returned after recently being added to the Dino-Bite Snacks menu in DinoLand U.S.A. The sweet treat is priced at $4.29 and comes with a side of chocolate dipping sauce.

Tequila Sunrise

1/2/17
Considerably later than implied in the June 2016 announcement, a replacement for the Margarita Kiosk in Epcot’s Mexico pavilion has been officially announced. Choza Tequila is slated to open in Early 2017 and offer “refreshing hand-crafted margaritas and classic Mexican cuisine like tacos, empanadas, chips and fresh guacamole”. The new kiosk is presumably being built behind the construction walls currently to the left of the pyramid structure in the pavilion.

6/1/16 Epcot’s World Showcase will be down one adult beverage kiosk heading into the hot summer months. It was quietly announced through La Cava Del Tequila’s social media that the Margarita Kiosk ‘s final day of operation would be 5/31/16. The kiosk is presumably closing in connection to the Norway pavilion expansion that is occurring on a plot of land behind the current kiosk location. An announcement on the Margarita Kiosk's Facebook page has indicated that a new "bigger and better" kiosk will open "in a few months".
