    Default Early Morning Breakfast

My family and I are planning an early breakfast at Chef Mickey's the first morning of our trip. Our reservation is at 8:10 AM and Magic Kingdom does not open until 9 (and no early EMH). We are unsure of how to go about getting to our reservation with plenty of time. We know that the buses run an hour before park opening, but that would only be ten minutes before our reservation. We also know that the buses to magic kingdom start running around 6:30, but that you have to tell the front desk whenever you arrive that you need this early transportation. We would do this option, but we do not know how much notice we would need to give the front desk. We are going to arrive at the hotel around 1 AM the morning of 12/17/16 and our reservation is at 8:10 AM on 12/17/16... Would this be enough notice to give or should we look into a different option?

You don't have to notify the front desk that you want an early bus. They automatically start around 6:30 for pre-park opening breakfasts. We took plenty of 7am buses to MK and AK just last week for early breakfasts (the parks both opened at 9).

I have no idea why Disney keeps saying that buses only start 1 hour before park opening. There are indeed early morning buses, although they may not run as often as usual, but to MK that usually isn't an issue.

I would leave yourself lots of time, just in case you have to wait a bit at the stop, but it won't be a problem.

Thank you! This really makes me feel a lot better about getting to our reservation, we were really trying to avoid calling a cab. Thanks!!

We have done this many, many times. We try to get to the bus stop by 6:45 AM and usually are on a bus to one of the parks by 7 AM. The latest we have ever been picked up was at 7:15 AM and we still made our reservation in plenty of time. The walk from MK bus depot to the Contemporary is a very quick one.

For us, we always call Mears transportation for a taxi ride to the Contemporary. It's not that expensive and much more time efficient. (We use Magical Express so we never have a car with us.)
