    Default 2 unrelated restaurant-related questions

Question 1: How is the Garden Grill? It seems very similar to Liberty Tree Tavern. We have ADR's for both for our upcoming trip. We have been to Liberty Tree (back when it was character) and we are willing to switch out the Garden Grill for another Epcot-area restaurant if they are too similar, unless you all say it is really good anyway.

Question 2: Food allergies. Has anyone gone to Ohana with an allergy to either nuts or soy? I hear they cook with peanut oil so I just want to know if the non-peanut oil stuff is just as good. I actually found a fan site 100% dedicated to food allergies around WDW, just not a whole lot of reviews of Ohana's with my specific allergy combination.

    Thanks!

Well Garden Grill is a character dining spot, plus it has the rotating surface, which I think is very cool. I would definitely recommend giving it a try if it's not too much trouble.

Might help some, Liberty Tree in our opinion has the better food. GG has the characters. We eat at both but if we had to choose it would be LT. Has for Ohana our Granddaughter has a tree nut allergy. They gave her a special menu plus the chef came out and walked thru the menu with my daughter. Granddaughter got special ice cream. When making ADR there is a box to check for allergies. By the way at Ohana, Granddaughter got mac-cheese at 21 dollars. Liberty Tree and GG chefs did the same.

We love Garden Grill, and it make it a stop on every trip. We also like LTT, but skip it some trips, and go some trips. Yes, the food is similar, but as long as they aren't back to back meals, I don't think that it too much of an issue (at least no one in my family ever commented on it when we did both on the same trip). The character interaction is great, and it is just fine to eat in a place that moves!

As far as I know, 'Ohana doesn't use peanut oil, but there is peanut dipping sauce that every table has. I've avoided eating there, just because of that, I didn't feel good with tons of peanut floating around everywhere. But, it will be safe, the chefs will ensure safe foods, and offer not to bring the peanut sauce to your table.

Never been to Garden Grill but friends have and said it was great, wouldn't know how it compares to LT. We love O'Hana and my mom has an allergy to shrimp. The chef came out and asked all kinds of questions. She was able to eat all the meat except the shrimp because it is cooked separately. At the time they were doing lettuce wraps and he was concerned about something they put in them so he made mom her own special salad. She was very happy with it. I wouldn't be concerned, Disney does a great job with allergies.

Garden Grill is one of our favorites. The food is really good, and sitting in the revolving restaurant is just one of the coolest experiences. And the characters! We do it almost every time. I would go there for the experience itself...and I happen to love the food.

We have never eaten at Garden Grill because there always seems to be better TS options at EPCOT. Liberty Tree Tavern is a good option for Magic Kingdom dinner or lunch.

At Ohana the chef will come out to speak to you. When you make yor ADR you can add it to your reservation. You can also call and add it. Remind the server when you are first seated. Liberty Tree Inn is a lot better than GG even though there is nothing wrong with either. LTI is a thanksgiving style meal while GG is a big family meal with characters.

Garden Grill and Liberty Tree Tavern felt like pretty different dining experiences. While the food is served family style at both, there are different options. I don't think you would feel like you were repeating a dining experience if you went to Garden Grill.

Lunch at Liberty Tree is off a menu but in the evening it is family style so depends on when you are going. That said...we always do both of them. Love the character interaction at garden grill in addition to the food. Love the atmosphere of Liberty Tree. They are both "must do's" for us.
