Question Shared shuttle to Magic Kingdom Park

    Hi,

Im planning a vacation to Orlando Disney Parks with my family. We're staying at Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek but I don't know transportation options to get to the parks. We're flying from Los Angeles and we've already booked an orlando airport shuttle to get us to our hotel but I've heard about shared shuttles to all the parks, do you know something about it? Do you think if it's recommendable to rent a car to move around? we're staying 4 days in Orlando and people say taxi cabs are expensive. I don't know how safe is public buses and stuff.

Thanks, I appreciate all your comments and advice

I think that most of the Hotels around Disney have their own shuttles but not sure how often they run. If you plan on driving other places around Orlando I would rent a car if it were me.

I have never driven to the parks myself but there are a lot of folks here that have that can comment on driving yourselves.

    Hope this helps...

From their website, they have a shuttle:

The Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek is an upscale lakeside hotel near Disney's EPCOT surrounded by stunning woodlands, and the alluring style of sun-kissed Orlando. Guests of our Mediterranean-inspired hotel will discover family-friendly services that create an unforgettable Orlando vacation, from shuttle service to Disney's famed theme parks, to business-minded services and amenities that keep you connected while on the go.

I have noticed that non Disney hotel shuttles run at very off times and maybe only to and from the Magic Kingdom and only 2-3 times a day. I would recommend renting a car if staying off site that way you don't have to worry about planning your trip around a shuttle.

    ^^ true story...

I don't know of any "off-site" hotel that offers anything comparable to the on-site transportation. Between the limited runs, the bus stop locations, etc. It's probably better to rent a car. Remember though, parking is like $20 a day (will certainly go up again this year).

With as close as Bonnet Creek is and given the cost per day to park at Disney I bet you'd come out ahead to take a combination of the Bonnet Creek bus (when it works for your schedule) and Uber/Lyft rather than renting a car and having to pay for parking every day.

I'm pretty sure that you have to pay to use the Wyndham's shuttle. I would recommend renting a car.

Nope, the shuttle service is free for people staying at the resort. Many hotels offer free shuttle service to the parks. They drop off in the Disney Bus areas just farther away. For MK it's usually the TTC.

It's $18-$22 a day to park a rental car at Wyndham.

A cousin stayed there with a friend and she was under the impression you did have to pay for the shuttle (but they had a car, so they didn't use the shuttle). She also said she heard people complaining about the inconvenience of it, but again this is 2nd and 3rd hand knowledge.
